Our
two cottages which stand by the base of the lighthouse were
the year-round homes of the former Lighthouse Keepers. They
were
constructed in 1858 according to the designs of David Stevenson of the
renowned Victorian family of lighthouse builders and are now listed buildings.
They
have been restored
and renovated to a very high
standard. The cottages provide the modern facilities and comforts
associated
with 21st century living (like central heating and double glazing) and
yet retain many of their original Victorian features such as
high ceilings, cornice, panelled doors and working shutters.
